THROUGH EARLY INTERVENTION WE WANT TO LOWER THE 

PREVALENCE OF ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR (PARTICULARLY 

DUE TO DRUG AND ALCOHOL ABUSE) THROUGH REFORMING 

YOUTH CULTURE.

StreetCrew has been developed to intervene in the negative social cycle many young people in Dapto are in. Though people of all ages and stages are welcome, StreetCrew has a particular focus on those who are yet to reach adulthood. This target is key to changing the anti-social behaviour such an age-group is often associated with. StreetCrew believes that each young person is valuable and has immeasurable potential. In order to care for and help them reach their best potential StreetCrew provides such young people with positive role models, access to professional pathways (for mental health, family services and career opportunities) and a safe place to spend nights that disengages them with unhelpful behaviors such as alcohol or drug abuse, destruction of property or vandalism. Each volunteer is trained to help young people access positive pathways and keep them safe on the streets.
